The Vikings have made a reputation for being one of the most ruthless warriors in the history of mankind. With Vikings: War of Clans, you have a chance to command them and their capabilities in a game full of plunder, war and resource management.

You start off with a very small village, with only a handful of buildings existing. You’ll have to build them up from scratch. Each building performs a very specific function within the game. How do you tell which one you’ll have to build first? The tutorial at the beginning of the game will teach you which buildings to construct first, through a series of Quests.

Quests, when accomplished, will give you rewards. These rewards will come in the form of resources that you can use in-game like in-game cash as well as experience points.

The mobile game makes use of a leveling system, like most MMORPGs. Once you’ve leveled up, you also receive rewards like VIP access for 24 hours. VIP access is normally purchased through micro-transactions, which means you’ll have to spend real cash. Experience points are also acquired when you construct buildings, or when you engage in battles. Combat is real-time here in Vikings: War of Clans. You go to the Global Map, find a village that you want to attack, and send troops to it. Your troops will be marching on the open field for the entire time it takes to reach their destination. Attacking takes but a few seconds, and then the troops will march back to your village.

You will receive information on the progress of the attack through your game inbox. It’s important to continually monitor progress of your attacks, so you can find if you lost troops that would need to be replaced, among others.

While your troops are marching, you can go back to your village and continue to manage it. Other tasks that you can do include: upgrading your existing buildings, especially the production-related ones like the Lumber Mill, the Mine, the Farm and others, as well as researching technologies that could help in building up the strength of your village and army.
