War and Order is your typical, run-of-the-mill MMORTS game. It has all the elements present in the other games in its genre. The story and progression starts in a similar way: you’re a small warlord hoping to make your mark on the world. You can do this by building a vast army, attacking and subduing enemy territories, and forming a fearsome alliance. We can safely say that it is not the most original game out there, but it’s not half bad.

In addition, War and Order has base building. Fortunately for players who want to get into it, the timers are bearable, especially when constructing new buildings. This is because timers are free when there is seven or fewer minutes left. You don’t have to spend premium currency just to speed things up: the game is user-friendly enough. This means you can construct and upgrade buildings quicker here than in other MMORTS game on the app stores.

Everything in War and Order looks familiar, which is both a good and a bad thing. The bases, the user interface, and even the map looks like a carbon copy of several popular MMORTS games. There is an uncanny resemblance to Game of War - even the gameplay is the same. Nevertheless, this somehow works in favor of War and Order. The familiarity aspect makes it easy to get into, considering that learning curves thrown your way are absolutely minimal.

In order to build an army in War and Order, you first need to train units. The game does a good job in terms of unit variety, since the ones you’ll end up recruiting are not limited to a single race. These include orcs, humans, elves, and golems. Like in other MMORTS games, training these units takes time and resources, which means you need to carefully manage your stockpile of supplies. You will also be required to perform research on various buildings, technologies, and weapons so you will be able to produce more resources and in addition, your troops will become more efficient in combat.

Given that it is an MMORTS game, you can communicate with other players in the field, make friends, forge alliances, or do battle with them. There is a global chat feature that lets you talk to players around the world. Take note that War and Order is best enjoyed with people around you, so be sure to quickly band together.

War and Order’s battle system doesn’t put in anything new, but on a positive note, everything is animated. You will be able to see how battles go down, though you won’t have any control over your units as everything is automated. Apart from rallying troops with your alliance members, you can also ask for assistance from neutral parties when you’re rallying in some troops.

Overall, War and Order may be a typical MMORTS game, but the animated battles are a nice touch. Furthermore, the game’s friendly user interface and free “under seven minute timers” are great additions. It may be the MMORTS game you’re looking for, so give it a shot!
